players can interact with the environment: kicking down a ladder, jumping out of a window, dodging an attack or executing a "finishing move" on weakened enemies. This is a change from older survival horror games, which constantly shifted through a variety of camera angles.

"Amnesia: The Dark Descent" is a first-person adventure game with survival horror elements. The player takes control of "Daniel" a person who must navigate Castle Brennenburg while avoiding various dangers and solving puzzles. The gameplay retains the physical object interaction used in the Penumbra series, allowing for physics-based puzzles and interactions such as opening doors and fixing machinery.
Fatal frame 2

"Fatal Frame II" is a survival horror video game. For most of the game the player controls the protagonist "Mio Amakura" as she and her sister Mayu explore a ghost town. As they explore the town and uncover its secrets they defeat enemies in the form of ghosts and spirits by taking pictures of them with an enchanted camera.
Manhunt

"Manhunt" is a stealth-based urban horror styled game played from a third-person perspective. The game consists of twenty levels, called "scenes", as well as four unlockable bonus scenes. Players survive the scenes
by dispatching enemy gang members, occasionally with firearms, but primarily by stealthily executing them.
Until dawn

"Until Dawn" is an interactive drama in which players primarily assume control of eight young adults who have to survive on Blackwood Mountain until they are rescued at dawn.The gameplay is mainly a combination of cutscenes and third-person exploration. Players control the characters in a linear environment and find clues and items.

The game features a semi-open world, with the player unlocking new areas as the storyline progresses. It also features a crafting system, a day/night cycle, trading and non-player character (NPC) interaction,

"Fallout 3" is played from the first-person perspective.
The players have the option to switch between this and an "over-the-shoulder" third-person perspective at any time after the initial stages of the game. While many elements from previous titles are reused, such as the S.P.E.C.I.A.L. system, and the enemies encountered, major elements in the combat system are changed and new features are introduced.
Alien:Isolation

"Alien: Isolation" is a single-player action-adventure game with an emphasis on stealth and survival horror features. The player controls Amanda Ripley from a first-person perspective and must explore a space station and complete objectives while avoiding, outsmarting and defeating enemies. Objectives range from activating all of those computers to collecting certain items or reaching a specific area in the game.
